I worked in a gas station with one of those fully-automated no-touch car washes. The way people would manage to screw up using it amazed me.
The all time most boggling was an elderly person in a rusty 80's Buick that pulled too far in such that her rear tire was on the stop plate and the front of her car was sticking out of the wash bay. The machine sprayed the back half of her car with foam and then errored when it couldn't swing the arms around the front due to the car sticking out. Machine shut down and reset leaving her with a half-foamy car.
I gave her a new car wash code and helped her actually get into the correct position. Then while I watched she waited until her car was covered in foam completely, started the car again, BACKED OUT OF THE WASH BAY, and struck the front of the then brand-new BMW Z3 waiting in line for the wash. After hitting the BMW pretty hard she put hers in drive, pulled back into the wash bay, shut her car off and let the rest of the car wash commence. After her car was washed she pulled out like nothing had happened, and when I flagged her down denied having backed out of the car wash at any point.
She was still denying it even after the police showed her the damage to the BMW that matched her back bumper AND the security footage of her backing out of the car wash(she claimed the car in the video was white and hers was brown, despite it being, you know, COVERED COMPLETELY IN WHITE FOAM).
